The veterinarians at Manchester Animal Hospital believe that preventative medicine is the key to every pet’s health and longevity. A preventative care plan is always tailored to the individual patient taking into account the patient’s breed, age, and expected risk factors. Puppies:  All puppies should have the following core preventative care:

Wellness Examination(s)
Distemper vaccine series (includes Parvo, Adeno, Parainfluenza viruses)
Rabies vaccine
Monthly Heartworm prevention
Monthly Flea and Tick prevention
Fecal testing and appropriate deworming

Additional recommended vaccine series include:
Lyme vaccine series
Leptospirosis vaccine series
Bordatella vaccine


Adult Dogs: All adult dogs should have the following core preventative care

Annual Wellness examinations
Distemper vaccine
Rabies vaccine
Heartworm/Lyme/Anaplasma/Erlichia testing
Year-round monthly Heartworm prevention
Year-round monthly Flea and Tick prevention
Fecal testing and appropriate deworming
Routine blood chemistry/CBC/urinalysis (senior dogs)
6-month wellness examinations (senior dogs)

Additional recommended vaccines include:
Lyme vaccine
Leptospirosis vaccine
Bordatella vaccine
Canine Flu vaccine


Kittens:  All kittens should have the following core preventative care: 

Wellness Examination(s)
Distemper vaccine series (includes Rhinotracheitis, Calici, Panleukopenia viruses)
Rabies vaccine
Feline Leukemia and Aids testing
Fecal testing and appropriate deworming
Monthly Flea prevention

Additional recommended preventative care:
Feline Leukemia vaccine series (core for outdoor cats)
Monthly Heartworm/Tick prevention (outdoor cats)


Adult cats:  All adult cats should have the following core preventative care:
